The evening is at leisure to relax at the hotel or explore the vibrant nightlife, the Old Quarter of Hanoi and the French Quarter, and for taking a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake.

The Silk Path is well located for exploring the Old Quarter of Hanoi and the French Quarter, and for taking a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake.
The guest rooms are well appointed and stylishly furnished although some of the deluxe rooms only have internal windows, which is common for many of the older buildings in the city. The hotel has a fresh, contemporary feel with a good range of facilities for a medium-sized hotel, including several restaurants, a premium bar and a piano bar, a fitness centre as well as a Jacuzzi on the top floor.
The local government authorities have designated three pick-up and drop-off points for vehicles in the Old Quarter to avoid traffic congestion in the area. The Silk Path is conveniently located near to one of these official parking points and your guide will assist with luggage should you not be able to park immediately outside the hotel.
OUR OPINION:
This is the first four-star hotel in the Old Quarter and it is a very reasonably priced and well located hotel, making it ideal for a short stay in Hanoi.

Today you will head out into the city, with time spent exploring the area by car and by cyclo. In the afternoon you will have more time to discover the city under your own steam.

Begin your day with visits to some of Hanoi's most iconic landmarks. Start at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex, where you can pay respects to the revered leader and explore the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House. A short walk away is the One Pillar Pagoda, a historic Buddhist temple known for its unique lotus-shaped design. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, to enjoy its serene gardens and well-preserved architecture. After a morning of exploration, head to the bustling Old Quarter for lunch, where you can savor a bowl of Pho at a renowned local eatery.
In the afternoon, visit the Hoa Lo Prison Museum to gain insights into Vietnam’s history, particularly during the French colonial period and the Vietnam War. Then, take a leisurely stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple on its small island. Experience a traditional water puppet show at the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre. Conclude your day with a guided street food tour in the Old Quarter, sampling local dishes like Banh Mi and Banh Cuon. If it's the weekend, explore the vibrant night market for shopping and more street food delights.

You leave Hanoi on board a seaplane to transfer across to Halong Bay — enjoy a scenic flight across the bay to witness the scale of this beautiful UNESCO-protected site. Returning to the bay mid-morning, your luggage will meet you from Hanoi as you board your junk boat for the evening.
